This 26 year old woman came to us in the first week of February this year. She was suffering from Severe Female Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia).
Androgenetic alopecia in women is often linked to hormonal changes with the hair loss following events such as the menopause, childbirth or as a result of stopping or starting oral contraceptive pills. The hair loss is generally more uniform over the scalp than in the male counterpart, but also results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone. The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be over sensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

We prescribed the following treatments:
Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser: This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair. It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth. It also contains a multi-vitamin complex to help catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerate growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.
Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser: This stimulant contains a very effective natural 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It reduces the amount of 5-alpha reductase in the scalp and thereby reduces the formation of DHT, stabilising hair loss and encouraging a healthy growth cycle.
THIS COULD BE YOU IN 4 to 5 MONTHS

Charlotte is delighted with her early positive response. Her hair fall has all but stopped completely and has headed back to a normal regrowth cycle, and her irritation and scaly scalp are a thing of the past. She is now looking forward to further improvements and a good recovery over the next 6 to 12 months of ongoing treatments.

I am wary about going to a clinic for hair loss and being charged extortionate amounts of money. Can you reccommend anywhere and also, am I able to get the medications, creams via my doctor on prescription.
Miss Cynthia Williams.

If you come along to our centre and see one of our Westminster Trichologists we will able to recommend what is best for you in your particular case.
Trichological treatments are unfortunately not available on the NHS.

Hi,
I am a woman in my mid 40′s and I am wanting something to thicken but more importantly strengthen my hair. I live in Derbyshire and therefore a visit to your salon is impossible. What do you recommend and can it be purchased on line
regards

I would recommed the following treatments:
Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair. It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.
Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a multi-vitamin complex to stimulate the hair follicles and increase hair cell production and proliferation. It is also designed to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting increased hair growth and density.

Firstly I would suggest that you see your GP for a general medical and blood test screening. Then with these findings contact us and speak to one of our Trichologists for further advice and possible consultation.

Hi,
I just permed my hair, and I’m really scared that because of the perm I’m losing a lot of hair and there are some red marks….and near the forehead it seems like I’m losing hair, but I can’t really remember what it was like before, what should I do?

The two products shown above look hopeful. My daughter is using Minoxodil as prescribed by a well known trichologist. Can the above products be used as well?
